Building on our summer professional development exploring the Eureka Math² California Edition, this follow-up session dives deep into the effective use of Math Benchmark Assessments. As introduced in our updated pacing calendars and module maps, these benchmark blocks (scheduled at the end of key modules, such as Modules 2 and 4) are critical tools for progress monitoring.
In this session, participants will bridge their understanding of OUSD Elementary STEM's core focuses—coherence, rigor, and belonging—with concrete administration and analysis with Benchmark 1. Teachers will engage in collaborative discussions to analyze student work from benchmark assessments and plan targeted instructional strategies. We will also revisit how to leverage the curriculum's enhanced Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and multilingual (MLL) supports to address unfinished learning and ensure all students have equitable access to high-quality, grade-level mathematics.
