Elementary Math Pilot

Elementary Math Pilot Update

The Elementary Math Pilot continues. Twenty-seven K-5 teachers, from 17 schools representing the width and breadth of OUSD are preparing lessons for approximately 750 students from the two math curriculum chosen by the Phase I math pilot committee: Eureka and Illustrative Mathematics.

Piloting teachers have received their teacher materials. The pilot will take place during the Winter and Spring and end with a recommendation for adoption. The plan is to have a newly adopted curriculum for the year 2022-23.

Phase II also includes a sharing of the curriculum with all OUSD stakeholders. Both curricula are “Open Source” and available on-line (Eureka at the Eureka - Great Minds website and Illustrative Mathematics through the Kendall Hunt website). Public access to printed material will be made available in January and February (time and place to be announced). We look forward to working with teachers and all stakeholders towards a successful adoption. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the STEM Team by using the contact form at the bottom of this page.
